Rosaleen Fadden is the founder and director of the Tai Chi and Wellness Academy in Ireland. She is an experienced healthcare professional with over 30 years experience, and has worked with a wide range of organisations and individual clients to support, uplift, and transform their lives. The resulting benefits are many – rejuvenation, strength and vitality, natural health, and inner peace and calm.
For the past 15 years Rosaleen has been teaching Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Meditation classes, and facilitating workshops and week-long retreats in Ireland, the Netherlands and Laos. Rosaleen is an accredited Counsellor and Family Therapist, Registered Nurse, Meditation facilitator, advanced level Tai Chi teacher, and certified Life Coach. Following a life long pursuit of her passion for the art of joyful living, and high level wellness, Rosaleen has been inspired to share this knowledge with others,
At the Tai Chi and Wellness Academy we offer a variety of classes designed to empower and improve the lives of the students attending. All of our classes include Tai Chi, Chi Kung and relaxation or Meditation, at different levels depending on the class participants. A short course can provide an excellent introduction to the Pathways to Wellness through the Infinite Arts of Tai Chi, Chi Kung, and Meditation. It is important to realise that the benefits gained from a short course are very different from those of joining an ongoing class in which students are trained over a period of years. Students may join an eight-week course and find that ten years later they are still enjoying, and gaining great benefit from, their classes and their own daily practice.
The classes are open to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, who have an interest in improving their own lives. Because of the gentle pace and low impact nature of the movements of Tai Chi and Chi Kung, these exercises are suitable for most people. It is also possible to adapt the exercises for seated students or wheelchair users. Students may choose a class by the title of one of the six or eight-week courses, or from their own need or area of interest, e.g. building physical strength, for stretching and flexibility, stress management, meditative aspects, social outlet, or curiosity in relation to the Pathways to Wellness.
Most classes generally start with some warm-up Chi Kung exercises to raise the core body temperature and some stretching to open up and relax the body. A main Chi Kung exercise may then be taught, followed by Tai Chi stages and some bodily relaxation exercises or Meditation at the end of the class.
Students should wear comfortable clothing suitable for exercise, and bring a yoga mat, cushion, and a shawl or blanket for meditation.
Classes last for 1.5 hours.
All classes are provided in blocks of 6 or 8 weeks.
PLEASE NOTE:
All our classes have been facilitated on Zoom over the past year, with high attendance and great enjoyment, including online end-of-year parties! We adhere to Government guidelines regarding pandemic restrictions and will continue classes via Zoom until restrictions are lifted for our sector.

"My husband and I started doing Tai Chi and Chi Kung about 30 years ago so that we could remain supple and agile right through to old age. Now we are in our 70s and still doing Tai Chi and we have achieved our aim. We both find that practicing Tai Chi each morning gives us energy that keeps us going all day long. We are very fortunate to have Rosaleen as our Tai Chi teacher. We have had quite a few teachers down through the years and there is nobody to compare to Rosaleen."
